Useless Evacuation Part2 as so expatriation

Dear Jose Renato Terrero Saco,
Thank you for your email.
I have attached your benefit guide so you can look at all the guidelines regarding evacuation. As you will be able to see it states that we may be able to arrange evacuation from a oil rig, each case has to be looked at individually. If we were unable to take you from the oil rig we would be able to assist you from a on land site.
In cases of evacuation we need to be informed as soon as possible so we can make arrangements and pre-authorise any treatment or travel.

Getting your query resolved the first time you email us is very important to us. I hope I have fully answered your query but if you feel I haven't, please reply to this email and put "More help needed" in the subject line.

You can also get instant help via our BUPA Web chat from your Members World homepage. This new addition to our website gives you instant access, day or night, to our team of experienced advisers who will be able to chat with you in real time, online, wherever you are and whatever your needs. You can access it through http://www.BUPA-into.com/members world. You will need to register for the service, if you haven't already, so you can start enjoying the benefits Members World has to offer.

Kind regards,

Useless Evacuation

Hi!

I work with oil field services, so if you can't make evacuation on rig sites the hired service is useless, that gives me the possibility to hire any other international company.
So why han't I been expatriated to the nearest country that you have affiliated hospitals capable of giving the required treatment?

Regards,
José Renato Terrero Saco.

Dear Mr Terrero Saco

Complaint reference number 13440

Thank you for your email dated 29 June 2009. I am sorry for the delay in replying.

I understand that you are unhappy that the hospital where you received out-patient

treatment has asked you to pay their accounts and for you to reclaim these costs from

us, and that we were unable to pre-authorise treatment for you.

Also you have raised concerns about the evacuation process, our membersworld

website, and a salary insurance scheme.

I will try to address each of the points in the order that you have raised them.

We do have agreements with some doctors and hospitals whereby we can settle

accounts for treatment on our members behalf, however, this is rarely available for

treatment provided on an out-patient basis.

TUTTL/BI-3091-4000-2800_

I believe my colleague Darren Robson has explained to you in a previous email that we

are unable to pre-authorise out-patient treatment and arrange direct settlement of

accounts for this type of treatment.

In addition I understand that Darren also explained that we had experienced some

difficulties with our membersworld website. These unfortunately had been caused by our

installation of a new system designed to improve the information available on the

website.

I hope you have received the claim forms sent as attachments to previous emails, and I

can assure you once we receive your fully completed claim forms, with the invoices and

receipts detailing the treatment provided, it will assessed as quickly as possible and we

will arrange for payment to be made to you.

Moving onto your query about the evacuation cover available to you as part of your plan

with us.

You have mentioned that you had an accident whilst working on an offshore rig and you

were taken to the Congo for treatment.

From the details you have given, I have concluded that you were evacuated from the

offshore rig, and transported to the Congo by arrangements made through your

employer.

Although Bupa International does provide you with evacuation cover, there are certain

situations and locations that are impossible for us to provide this service from, such as

an oil rig.

We do explain more about this in your membership guide under section 4 Assistance

cover.

I am sorry I am unable to help you with your query about salary insurance, as this is not

something we as a medical insurance provider offer. May I suggest that you speak with

your company human resources department, as this insurance may be something

offered directly by your company.

I hope I have been able to answer all of the concerns you have raised.

In line with our complaints procedure, I need to ensure you are satisfied with my

response and that the issues you raised have been resolved. I do hope that this is the

case. I would be very grateful if you could confirm this by completing the attached slip

and returning it in the pre-paid envelope enclosed.

If you feel unhappy with my response and wish to take your complaint further, please

write to the Head of Customer Relations at the above address within 8 weeks from the

date of this letter. Alternatively, you may prefer to telephone, fax or email via the

contacts detailed above, quoting your membership number and complaint reference

number. If we do not receive a reply within 8 weeks from the date of this letter we will

close the complaint.

If you remain unhappy after our final reply you may refer your complaint to the Financial

Ombudsman Service within 6 months. Their contact details are; South Quay Plaza, 183

Very slow

Good afternoon Mr Terrero Saco, It has come to our attention that you are not happy with the services provided by us here at Bupa International.
Please accept my apologies for the and let me explain a few of the points.
With regard to the pre authorization, out patient visits are always normally on a pay and claim basis, if the hospital wants to direct settle with us for out patient then we are happy to accept this but this only normally applies to In patient treatment. If you would like to make a formal complaint about this please address your concerns to the head of customer relation here at Bupa international and we will investigate this further for you.
The issues with the membersworld site are across the board as we have had new systems implemented recently and this has created a few problems with the site. If you do need any information, like claim forms sent to you or to speak about your claims then please do not hesitate to contact us and if you require we can call you back. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.
Again please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Thank you.

I had a work accident on May 5th at congo offshore, a surgery were performed on left hand middle finger on Pointe Noire, as I won´t be able to work for 45 days, I came back home at Santos, São Paulo, Brazil.
I have the finger immobilized for a few more days, so the curatives have to be changed at least, then follow with physiotherapy treatment.
So please, tell me a affiliated center here so I can continue with treatment, in case of no affiliated center, I ask you to call Irmandade da Santa Casa da Misericordia de Santos http://www.scms.org.br/home.asp or Beneficencia Portuguesa http://www.spb.org.br/ to get a straight bupa hospital treatment authorization.
Also I neither can register to membersworld (says membership number already registered) nor recover lost user/password (says no data about my membership number).
Tried your web site facilities search w/o success (after selecting brazil it don´t even allow me to select region telling i have to select country first as if i had not selected it), also tried the http://www.bupalatinamerica.com link w/o success.

Best regards,
Renato.
Please, contact bupa to pre authorize the treatment here in santos, bupa were not even capable of telling were, I found bu google that provident international is the bupa representant here & they do have hospitals here in santos.
So please, push them into getting in contact with their own representative in order to have continuity to the treatment & have the name (names) of hospital that I shall attend to.
As I am out of work for 45 days, I checked the new bupa stuff and couldn´t find the symbolic salary they paid for treatment over 15 days. Had it changed to another police?

Regards,
Renato.
Your system don't allow neither to register nor to recover lost user and password!
I do need the claim forms right away as I could not find any hospital in santos that accept bupa & you had not contacted provident international, http://www.provident-intl.com/index.htm, your representant in brazil.
Do you cover the expences of travelling to são paulo capital in order to go to hospital sirio libanes that is bupa affiliated?
Please get in contact in order to add Santa Casa de Santos, http://www.scms.org.br/home.asp

Irmandade da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Santos
Av.: Dr. Cláudio Luis da Costa, 50
Bairro: Jabaquara
Caixa Postal 439
Cep.: 11075-900
Santos - SP
Brazil
Tel.: (13) 3202-0600
Fax.: (13) 3234-9890

Meanwhile e-mail A.S.A.P. the claim forms.
Hi! Tanks, but I live in Santos & the travelling from santos to são paulo city I'm almost sure is not covered, besides the best would be to have the treatment in santos, so if you could add the following hospitals it would be great!

At São Paulo you have already beneficencia portuguesa, but they have different administration besides same group:

HOSPITAL BENEFICENCIA PORTUGUESA
AV. DR. BERNARDINO DE CAMPOS, 47
VILA BELMIRO
11065-910 SANTOS-SP, BRAZIL
PHONE: (+55) (13) 2102-3434

Also add the following

Irmandade da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Santos
Av.: Dr. Cláudio Luis da Costa, 50
Bairro: Jabaquara
Caixa Postal 439
Cep.: 11075-900
Santos - SP
Brazil
Tel.: (13) 3202-0600
Fax.: (13) 3234-9890

Please let me know if you get any of them of both to work with bupa direct, both are the reference hospitals in santos & in order to make some specific exams they send from on to the other.

Best regards,
Renato.

Ciao Jojanneke!

I had just spent all the morning at São Paulo w/o any bupa support, first I had gone to Hospital Beneficencia Portuguesa, they even knew they were affiliated to bupa & after hours waiting the answer from the commercial department were told to make private and then ask bupa for refund.
So I'd gone to Hospital Sirio Libanes, asked if they worked w/bupa & they told yes, but at the end the bupa affiliation were the same shit, make private then ask bupa!
So on the way back I had gone private to Hospital Beneficencia Portuguesa de Santos.
I'm quite sure that's bupa issue, 'cause while living in Spain I had asked Sanitas (belongs to bupa) and they don't accept bupa neither.
So the involved hospitals, please remove bupa from your so called partnership & Geolog, please, find a serious insurance instead of a fake paper only insurance.
Not to mention that the evacuation were performer by ENI Congo and the travel back home by Geolog or ENI. And BUPA police cover evacuation & expatriation.

Best regards,
Eng. José Renato Terrero Saco

Dear Mr Jose Terrero Saco

Thank you for your email.

Please find attached a claim form as requested you can print this off as and when you have medical treatment so the treating doctor/consultant can complete the medical section of the claim form.

I can see from your membership that you logged onto membersworld yesterday so I assume the issue regarding this has been resolved. If not then please let us know so we can look into this further for you.

Turning to your question about the hospital in Brazil We are continually looking to grow our network of participating hospitals and clinics and we welcome suggestions from our customers, particularly if they have had a positive experience of their local healthcare facility, as we care about the standard of care and service our customers receive.

We will review your recommendation and consider adding the facility to our network. If you want to check our up to date list of participating hospitals you will be able to see this on our Membersworld site at www.bupa-intl.com/membersworld

While we do encourage our customers to use our network of providers for daycase and inpatient treatment, you can select a recognised medical practitioner of your choice however if they are not in our network we may not be able to arrange direct settlement of your invoices.

To help make the most of your cover we would prefer you to contact us before treatment takes place so we can manage your care, and work directly with the hospital or clinic to provide a guarantee of payment and arrange direct settlement wherever possible.

If you need medical treatment we would strongly recommend that you contact us to confirm the cover for you this will provide you with peace of mind that you treatment will be covered by us. We will need to know the following when you call to confirm cover

- What are your symptoms?
- Admission date
- Name of treating Consultant
- What treatment/procedure is required
- How long will your stay in hospital be
- Name of hospital treatment will take place

We do not cover travelling expenses to the hospital under any of our plans

I trust this information is helpful and please feel free to contact us again.

Bom dia!

Atenciosamente,
Eng. José Renato Terrero Saco

If you have any further questions please call our 24 hour customer services department on +44 (0) 1273 323 563 for an immediate reply to your enquiry, or you can contact us by email at info@bupa-intl.com.

Hi!

I just had called bupa again and the same bullshit!
Out patient is to be done as private then chain bupa for refund even at affiliated hospitals.
So I'm continuing with the pos-surgery treatment here at santos, hospital beneficencia portuguesa de santos.
Yesterday I had forwarded the bupa e-mails to a couple of news, times (uk) & estado de sao paulo (br), so let's see if I get bupa a "good" publicity.

Regards,
Renato.
